The person of interest that was being questioned in a series of attacks on women who were leaving gyms late at night has been charged.
Police charged 18-year-old Carlos Eduardo with sexual assault and aggravated assault with a deadly weapon in connection with the attack at the Fitness Connection at 3900 Spencer Highway.
On May 14, a Pasadena woman claimed a man followed her home from Fitness Connection and raped her. Also, two other women came forward with similar claims matching Eduardo’s description.
Eduardo was arrested Wednesday afternoon after police say his lime green Mustang matched the suspect’s vehicle description.
Investigators say the car was used in the two other incidents as well, but Eduardo has not been charged in those crimes.
Authorities are planning to give more details on Eduardo’s arrest during a 10 a.m. press conference.
