A man was found shot to death in the back of a southwest Houston business park Monday morning. according to Houston police.

Officers were called out to the 10800 block of Kinghurst Street around 8:45 a.m. and found the man, believed to be in his late 20s or early 30s, dead on the ground next to his Chrysler car. His body appeared to have fallen out of the open driver’s door after being shot.

Video footage from nearby business shows the victim drive into the rear alleyway behind a strip center sometime overnight Sunday, according to Houston Police Department Homicide Detective Ken Fregia. Almost immediately, a second car pulled in behind the Chrysler, Fregia said the video showed.

Within minutes of the victim stopping behind the building, shots rang out and multiple people were seen running around the second car, which ultimately sped away. Fregia did not have a detailed description of the car and is waiting on additional footage from closer businesses to hope shed some light on what transpired.

On Monday morning, the man’s car was seen with damage on the front driver’s side panel. Its hazard lights were also flashing.

Crime scene experts marked off the location of four shell casings found at the scene, also noting bullet holes in the passenger side door of the car.

Anyone with information is urged to call HPD’s Homicide Division at 713-308-3600 or Houston Crime Stoppers at 713-222-TIPS (8477).
