Joseph Molina Flynn, a judge at Central Falls Municipal Court in Rhode Island, has resigned after his law office was raided by the FBI on Thursday. The reason for the raid has not yet been disclosed, though it was confirmed that a court authorized the search.
FBI agents executed the raid at Molina Flynn’s law office in Providence, with footage showing black SUVs and agents carrying boxes from the building. Sources familiar with the case mentioned that the investigation into the judge began before President Donald Trump’s return to the White House this week.
The law firm, which focuses on immigration, family, and criminal law, was established in 2015. Molina Flynn’s personal website highlights his immigrant background, stating that he moved from Medellín, Colombia, at age 9, and lived undocumented in the U.S. for 15 years before obtaining lawful permanent resident status.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office in Rhode Island declined to comment when asked about the case. Shortly after the news of the raid, Mayor Maria Rivera of Central Falls announced that Molina Flynn had resigned from his position as a municipal court judge, emphasizing the need for transparency and accountability in the local court system.
