The conclusion of Netflix’s hit series Stranger Things has sparked renewed interest in music connected to its cast, with “End of Beginning” by Djo—the musical project of actor Joe Keery—reaching No. 1 on Spotify in both the United States and worldwide.
On January 2, the track recorded 1.38 million streams in the U.S., securing its first-ever top position on the country’s Spotify chart. Globally, the song amassed over 6.5 million streams, allowing it to reclaim the No. 1 spot on Spotify’s Global ranking.
Keery, widely known for his role as Steve Harrington on Stranger Things, originally released “End of Beginning” in 2022 as part of his album Decide. The song gained significant momentum in 2024 after going viral on social media platforms, leading to its official release as a standalone single.

The song’s resurgence closely aligns with the final chapter of Stranger Things, resonating with fans due to its reflective lyrics about endings and new beginnings. This emotional connection has helped propel the track back to the top of streaming charts.
“End of Beginning” has previously seen major success, having reached No. 1 on Spotify’s Global Chart in 2024 and peaking at No. 11 on the Billboard Hot 100, further cementing Djo’s growing presence in the music industry.
The song’s rise also ended Taylor Swift’s extended run at the top of Spotify’s Global Chart. Interestingly, Keery has shared that Swift herself is a fan of the track, having expressed her admiration after hearing it ahead of its official release.
With Stranger Things coming to a close, “End of Beginning” has emerged as a defining soundtrack for the moment, marking a new milestone in Joe Keery’s evolving career as both an actor and musician.
