What started out as a chase between a man and deputy constables turned into a deadly crash.
The driver died when he slammed his car into a pillar and the car caught fire at the Beltway and the Northwest Freeway.

The chase started around 4:30 a.m. when deputies say the man refused to pull over.
The car burst into flames when the driver hit the pillar.
Deputies pulled the man from the vehicle and attempted to save him but he died at the scene.
It will take several hours to clear the roadway. Drivers are advised to avoid the area, if possible.
