Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale promised a massive Thanksgiving feast for his Houston community.
And judging by the tables and chairs set in the parking lot of Galley Furniture on North Freeway, Mack is going to make good on that promise this morning.
Pans upon pans of mashed potatoes are waiting to be served to anyone who is looking for a hot meal on this holiday.
McIngvale said 2,500 pounds each of turkey and ham will be served outside his store. Woody’s Smokehouse in Centerville rolled up to Gallery Furniture to serve up the hot meat.
Other food vendors including James Coney Island and Papa John’s are also offering other food options just in case turkey isn’t to your liking.
At least 10,000 people are expected to be served in this large-scale meal set up by McIngvale who has worked tirelessly to help the community ever since Hurricane Harvey.
McIngvale’s efforts, which included rescuing and giving refuge to flood victims, has been shown across the world.
The feast is set for 11 a.m. A free METRO shuttle is being offered from the Kuykendahl Park and Ride.
