Speaker of the House Paul Ryan arrived in the Houston area Thursday for a first-hand look at the damage left by Hurricane Harvey.
Ryan met with local officials, and is touring flood damaged sites and volunteering in the clean up process.
This visit comes ahead of a planned October vote on supplemental flood relief funding for victims of both Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.
