Charges have been filed against a man police say fatally shot another man after he broke up his argument with a woman.
Frank Moaning, 75, has been charged with murder.
Investigators say Moaning was arguing with a woman outside of a convenient store off of MLK and Bellfort around 11 p.m. Monday.
Investigators say 22-year-old Tamaurick Hickmon stepped in to stop the violence.
Video from the scene showed Moaning leave the scene.
He returned moments later with a shotgun and shot Hickmon in the back as he tried to run away, according to police.
“Officers saw the video and in the initial scene was the truck pulled up and the complainant was sitting in front of the store. And that’s when one shot was fired in his direction,” said HPD detective Thomas Simmons.
Hickmon ran around the corner and collapsed. He later died from his injuries at the hospital.
Moaning left the scene following the shooting but returned and turned himself in to patrol officers.
He was interviewed by detectives and charged with murder.
