Why my son does not sleep? 8 causes that alter children’s sleep
Share on FacebookShare on Twitter

If you have children, you may have asked yourself this question sometime… Why does not my son sleep? How many parents are baffled when their children can not sleep well? The truth is that many… That’s why today in our blog we give you clues to help solve this problem.

  1. Electronic devices. Television, tablet or mobile phones emit blue light. This light stimulates the brain and facilitates the manufacture of melatonin which alters the rhythm day / night. It will cost more to find the dream and fall asleep. Do not hesitate to remove the devices to your children 2 hours before going to bed, the time necessary for the body to normalize.
  2. Electromagnetic fields. All electronic devices create an electromagnetic field. A TV, a computer, a mobile phone or a tablet, whether they are on or off, create around them an electromagnetic field that alters our body. It is recommended to have the least possible electrical appliances in the room, avoid having wires around us or the bed (lamp wire or alarm clock), do not leave the mobile on the bedside table (do not use it as an alarm clock and do not load it next to the bed) and unplug the wifi before going to sleep.
  3. The lack of physical activity. The day / night rhythm (circadian rhythm) also depends on our physical activity. Having a physical activity allows us to improve our attention during the day but also improve the quality of our sleep. Only 20 minutes of physical activity is enough to help our brain. It is also recommended to leave the activity a couple of hours before going to bed.
  4. Dinner time. Having a short time before going to bed to sleep is bad for digestion and for sleeping. It limits the absorption of nutrients and can worsen reflux symptoms. Refluxes can also promote insomnia and sleep disorders. It is very likely that you have gone to bed after a long dinner and feel an unpleasant sensation (burning); the acid is more likely to leave the stomach into the esophagus. It takes 3 hours for the stomach to empty. It can be a cause of insomnia even for the little ones.
  5. Delay the time to go to bed. Parents may think that by putting the child to bed later, he or she will be able to sleep better, get a quicker sleep or sleep until later the next morning. It is not the case. On the other hand, children need regularity in the schedules, so sometimes if you fall behind to catch sleep you can also hit the next night. They need to have a routine before going to bed and keeping time every day if it can be.
  6. Lie down with a calm mind. How many times has it happened to you to lie down and not be able to catch the dream of the turns you were giving or of the anger you had? Notice that the children are the same as us. We are more aware of the fears they may have during the night but it is the same if they have not been able to fix a discomfort with a worrying feeling. That’s what parents are for, listening to them and reassuring them so they can sleep well and recharge their batteries.
  7. Last, but not least, having vertebral subluxations in your spine puts more stress on the nervous system. Whether we are adults or children, it is one of the most frequent reasons for suffering from sleep disorders. Receiving chiropractic adjustments on a regular basis allows you to have a more flexible spine and a nervous system functioning at peak performance, have more energy when you need it but also be able to rest when it is time.

With all these tips you may find the answer to the question, why does not my son sleep? Put into practice the recommendations that we offer you and come and see us so that your little one begins to be treated with the chiropractic techniques that help millions of people all over the world.
