The match began with Atlético Madrid taking the lead, thanks to a brilliant play by Julián Álvarez, who scored the opening goal for the visitors. Álvarez, one of the standout figures of the game, also played a key role in their second goal, which came shortly after the first, putting Atlético 2-0 up in the early minutes. However, Barcelona quickly responded. In just two minutes, Xavi Hernández’s team managed to equalize, showcasing their ability to bounce back from adversity.

As the first half continued, the intensity of the match only grew. Barcelona, with their characteristic offensive style, soon began to take control of the game, and just minutes before the break, they turned the match around, going 3-2 up. The stadium was electric with every play, as both teams fought fiercely for every ball, knowing how crucial this first semifinal game was.

But Atlético Madrid wasn’t ready to give up. Despite being behind, the visitors pushed hard for the equalizer until the final moments. In a dramatic play, when it seemed like Barcelona would take a lead into halftime, Atlético managed to level the score at 4-4, leaving the result wide open for the return leg.

This draw leaves everything to be decided in the second leg on April 2 in Madrid. Both teams will be more motivated than ever to secure a spot in the Copa del Rey final, after this dramatic encounter that will be remembered for its spectacle and the excitement it generated. Without a doubt, the return match promises to be an all-out battle, with both sides determined to make it to the final and lift the trophy.
