This Sunday, March 30, the highly anticipated season premiere of MasterChef Celebrity México 2025 took place, featuring a diverse group of entertainment and social media figures vying for culinary glory in the country’s most famous kitchen. The first episode was filled with tension and excitement as participants showcased their cooking skills while competing to avoid elimination.
The evening culminated in an intense elimination challenge, where contestants were tasked with presenting a “dish with a story,” adding an extra layer of difficulty to the test. Chef Zahie Téllez informed the participants that they were looking for a dish that could be passed down through generations, not only requiring creativity but also respect for culinary techniques.
The judges closely monitored the preparations, and ultimately, the last contestants remaining in their black aprons were Memo Ríos and Iram Mendiola. However, it was Iram Mendiola, representing Generation Z, who became the first contestant to be eliminated from the reality show. His dish, titled “Dominguito Familiar,” consisted of pork cooked with spices, lard, and orange juice.
Chef Poncho Cadena praised the concept behind the dish but criticized the cooking time, stating it was not adequate. While Chef Zahie acknowledged Iram’s effort in making tortillas, it was not enough to earn a favorable evaluation for his preparation. Unfortunately, Iram did not succeed in impressing the judges with his dish.
During his final interview, Iram expressed satisfaction with the effort he put forth and the experience he gained on the show. “I leave happy with what I did and how I faced the elimination challenge. I think improvising with something I’ve never eaten is complicated. I took a risk, and it didn’t work out this time,” he shared tearfully, visibly moved by the support from his family and fans. “This was my first time on television, in a reality show, and I’m happy for the experience.”
Other contestants continuing in the competition include notable figures such as Ofelia Medina, Gaby Rivero, Memo Ríos, Plutarco Haza, and many more, all ready to face new culinary challenges in the upcoming episodes of MasterChef Celebrity México 2025.
