The wait is over. The new Buc-ee’s in Katy is set to open on Monday with a special sneak preview for first responders on Friday.
Any police officers, firefighters, EMS crews and other first responders can take a tour of the store with free treats from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m.
The 56,000 square-foot store will feature about 120 gas pumps and a 255-foot car wash, which could be the largest car wash in the world.
In March, the Katy City Council unanimously approved a resolution for the Katy Development Authority to enter an economic development agreement to bring the convenience store and gas station to the area, Community Impact reported.
“The business climate in the city of Katy has been very welcoming,” said Jeff Nadalo, Buc-ee’s general counsel. “It’s important for us to partner with local officials to successfully bring a new project to a new location.”
The store is located off I-10 and FM 1463 and will open its doors at 6 a.m.
Buc-ee’s has been a must visit for folks traveling through Texas. It was named the best rest stop in America by Bon Appetit Magazine in 2016.
