After seven matches, Bayern remains with 12 points, sitting in 15th place—just one point behind Bayer Leverkusen, which holds the 8th spot, the last position that guarantees direct entry to the knockout stage. With only one match left to play, Bayern will face Slovan Bratislava at home, but their chances of recovering ground now seem slim.
In a first half well below their usual standards, Bayern made defensive mistakes that Feyenoord capitalized on. In the 21st minute, a mistake from central defender Min-jau Kim allowed Santiago Giménez to race past the defenders and find himself one-on-one with Manuel Neuer, who was unable to stop the powerful shot from the Mexican.
