A threat on social media against C.E. King High School has prompted law enforcement to check students’ backpacks, according to a post on the Sheldon ISD Facebook page.
The district said that administrators also immediately put the school under a shelter-in-place order following information received about the threat Thursday morning.
The statement said in part, “Please know that all students are safe. The safety of our students is our top priority and we will ensure those responsible will be punished to the fullest extent of the law.”
Authorities are currently on the campus investigating.
