The head football coach of Taylor High School has been placed on indefinite leave, Katy ISD announced.
In a statement, Katy ISD, which did not identify the coach by name, said it notified players’ parents on Tuesday of the move.
“Katy ISD is committed to its students and will do everything necessary to ensure their continued success during this period,” the school district said in the statement. “Because this is a personnel matter the District is unable to provide additional information.”
Katy ISD added the team’s assistant coach Joe Sheffy will take over Herrmann’s role for the season.
Katy ISD lists Trey Herrmann as Taylor High School’s “Football Head Coach” on its website. The school district has not specifically identified the coach by name.
