The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating an aggravated robbery at a Walgreens in north Harris County where several customers were held at gunpoint.
It happened just after 11 p.m. at 19710 Holzwarth. Some of the customers told the media that three men barged into the store and held them hostage.
About 10 to 15 people were inside during the robbery.
The media spoke to the uncle of two teenagers who were robbed. He said his nephews were picking up milk for their niece when the suspects rushed in and demanded money.
“I guess they held everybody hostage in there, then took everybody’s belongings, everybody’s wallet. They took my nephew’s wallet. They put a gun to his head and basically took what they could and took off,” Jose Gutierrez said.
Investigators said two black men with guns were wearing black clothing and rags to cover their faces. They ordered the store manager and another employee to open the office and hand over cash.
The men then forced customers to give them their wallets and cell phones. Deputies said four women and three men were robbed of their personal items.
Deputies are still searching for the suspects. They are described as a black man, 5 foot 10 inches tall at 160 to 180 pounds. He was seen wearing a black colored shirt and pants and a black rag over his face. The second suspect is 5 foot 8 inches to 5 foot 10 inches tall, weighing 160 to 170 pounds. He was wearing a black shirt and pants with a red colored rag over his face.
No one was injured during the robbery.
