We are getting a first look at J.J. Watt’s recovery, just days after he went down with a season-ending injury during Sunday night’s game.
“One step at a time,” Watt wrote on social media with a photo of himself in crutches.

Watt underwent surgery after he fractured his left tibia in the team’s loss against the Kansas City Chiefs.
Watt was visibly in pain and emotional when he was carted off the field.
The morning after the game, Watt apologized and said he was devastated about the injury.
“I can’t sugarcoat it, I am devastated. All I want to do is be out there on the field for my teammates and this city. I’m sorry.”

He only played three games in the 2016 season before he injured his back and underwent surgery.
