An ‘irresponsible’ couple have caused outrage after they apparently shut their child in a locker while they went swimming.
A rather shocking video of the ordeal emerged online, showing the child’s mother pulling the crying toddler out of a wooden cabinet.
The couple had allegedly left their toddler in the locker at the swimming baths because they ‘did not want to look after the child while they bathed’.
The worrying moment was caught on film:
A member of staff, who helped the couple open the door of their locker, looked shocked when she realised there was a child locked inside.
There is no indication of how long the child had been left on its own in the locker, however, according to the report, the child was crying when it taken out.
Understandably!
On Chinese social media site, Weibo, people said they were shocked by the couple’s behaviour, branding them ‘careless’, ‘selfish’ and ‘irresponsible’.
While another added: “How careless could the parents be? The child is not an object. If it’s not convenient, then don’t go to take the bath.”
Which to be fair, is a very good point.
